Bowling Mania in England
Monday 6 August 2012In my opinion, the best excursion we did during my time in England was our afternoon trip to the bowling centre in Poole. We went to the bowling centre instead of to the beach as the weather forecast for that day was not very good - although I liked the beach too. It was the first time I had been bowling. When we entered the centre everything was loud, colourful and exiting for me. After a while we decided to play a game and we put on our special bowling shoes. I definitely don't like these kinds of shoes because I feel like a clown when I wear them!
Staying with an English host family
Monday 6 August 2012My family was very friendly and interested in students from other countries. The food was delicious and they are always nice. It is a very good experience to stay in an English host family to get to know the way English people live and speak. When you are in a host family you have to speak English and it helps you learn the language very much. I think that you can learn many new words in a host family.
My experience of England
Friday 3 August 2012I think England is a beautiful country and the people are very open and friendly. You feel like you are in Spain or Italy when the sun is shining and you are on the beach. The landscape is gorgeous and I love the tea, cream tea and the cakes and cupcakes! They are very delicious. I didn't expect the food would be as tasty as it is.
Hengistbury Head
Wednesday 18 July 2012My favourite trip was the trip to Hengistbury Head. We had beautiful weather and the landscape is amazing. It was a very nice trip and the short walk to the beach with the little houses was very beautiful.
Stonehenge
Tuesday 17 July 2012The best excursion for me was on Tuesday 17 July 2012 when we went to Stonehenge. All of the students and, of course, Sybylle and Kate met at 8.30am at the school. At about 9am the day started with our travel to Stonehenge. At the entrance we got our headphones so we could listen to information about the history of these famous stones. The whole walk around Stonehenge took us about 30 minutes and at the end there were some little shops with souvenirs and some food.
Portsmouth Historic Dockyard
Monday 9 July 2012On my course with New Forest Language School, my favourite trip was visiting Portsmouth with the docks and the old ships, for example the Mary Rose. We visited this ship and learned about its history. We went into all the different rooms of the ship and I could understand what life on a boat was like hundreds of years ago.
Longleat Safari Park
Yesterday we went to Longleat Safari Park. It was a great adventure because we saw a lot of animals and it was very funny. Longleat is not like a zoo, Longleat is a safari park. First we went on a boat and fed the sea lions with fish. It was a lot of fun because sometimes the sea lions jumped out of the water to catch the fish. It is the only place in the world where you can see a sea lion sitting on the back on a hippo!
English-Tennis Camp
Friday 22 April 2011In April I went to England with a friend. We did an English course with tennis lessons. The weather was great and always sunny. I really enjoyed the tennis lessons with Carl and made lots of new friends. I enjoyed all the tennis games such as dungeons and team jail, which are great team games.
Orienteering at Moors Valley
Monday 11 April 2011On the 1st afternoon of the course we cycled to Moors Valley in the New Forest to do orienteering. Everyone got a map and we got into two groups with our teachers. Our two groups started and we went from point to point but the other group tried to follow us so we turned into the forest and we never saw them again!
Hengistbury Head
Friday 15 April 2011We went to Hengisbury Head which is a place by the sea where you can do water sports. We did some kayaking and raft building. First we exercised to get warm with an instructor. He was funny.
