Longleat Safari Park

On Thursday, 12th August 2010 we went to the Safari Park in Longleat. It was a full day excursion with New Forest Language School and we left at 8:15 am.

The first attraction we visited was called the Safari Boat which was a trip over a little lake, with some hungry sea lions and an island with a silver back gorilla called Niko. It was really great because you could buy food for the sea lions. Next to the jetty was an enclosure with meerkats you were allowed to stroke. After that we went in a gorilla simulator that was fun, too. Next to the simulator was Old Joe’s Mine which was a place with a lot of fruit bats. Unfortunately we couldn’t take pictures as it was too dark.

Next we had our lunch at the Adventure Castle with some good slides. The best part of our trip was the Safari trip through the forest. There we saw giraffes with a baby giraffe. In this enclosure were zebra and kangaroos too. We also saw a fight between two male tigers.

After the Safari park we visited the old house from the lord. His family are still living in one part of the house.

Around six o’clock we arrived at home. It was a really great day.
